The title of an Al-Jazeera article released on February 22, 2013 is “Tunisia minister asked to form new government” (Web-site/URL: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2013/02/2013222105459667691.html).
“Secular opposition ANGERED by naming of Ali Laarayedh, a part of (the) ruling Ennahdha’s HARD-LINE wing, as PM-designate”. Once again people are “angry” because we know how BAD/PROBLEMATIC “hard-line” people are, especially “hard-line” POLITICIANS.
“Moncef Marzouki, Tunisia’s president, has asked Ali Laarayedh, the interior minister, to form a government within 15 days, after the main ISLAMIST Ennahda party named him as their candidate, the presidential spokesman has said”. “Islamist” governments, of course, are EXTREMELY problematic as we know because of OUTRAGEOUS practices such as FORCING WOMEN TO WEAR VEILS.
“Marzouki’s spokesman told a news conference on Friday (February 22, 2013) that Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouchi had formally nominated Laarayedh to succeed outgoing who resigned on Tuesday (February 19, 2013)”.
“Laarayedh, 57, was a founding member of Ennahdha and served as the party’s secretary-general in the 1980s, up until his arrest in 1992. He SERVED 14 years IN PRISON“. What was he arrested for?
“On Friday (February 22 2013) Mouadh Ghannouchi, son of (Ennahda) party chief Rached Ghannouchi said: “He (Laarayedh) is THE OFFICIAL candidate of Ennahdha for prime minister“, making Laarayedh seem very important.
“Laarayedh said that he would form a government for “ALL (?)Tunisians”. This is what all POLITICIANS say in order to get into power and then they end up working for THEMSELVES/THEIR OWN NARROW INTERESTS.
“after agreeing to take the position in a meeting with Marzouki on Friday evening (February 22, 2013). Laarayedh said: “We are going to enter the phase of forming a new government that will be for ALL (?) Tunisian men and women, taking into account the fact that men and women HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES“. Will this happen or is this just more LIP SERVICE?
According to Zied Lakhdar, “a leader in the Popular Front, in which (Chokri) Belaid was secretary-general”, “The decision DEEPENS THE CRISIS because Larayedh headed the ministry RESPONSIBLE FOR the killing of [secular politician Shokri] Belaid and violence that has spread throughout the country“.
Finally, “Mahmoud Baroudi, a leader of the secular Democratic Alliance opposition party, said Laarayedh’s appointment would AGGRAVATE TENSIONS and INCREASE ANGER IN THE STREETS“. “He (Laarayedh) was responsible for LENIENCY WITH Islamist violence against human rights activists“, “BLAMING Islamists for disrupting opposition meetings and assassinating Belaid”. Of course many people are still TERRIFIED of “Islamists” and we also have yet another example of “Blaming and criticizing” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-AJviZ8Itk).
This is the latest example of GOVERNMENT INSTABILITY in an ARAB country. Again, as GIGI IBRAHIM (gsquare86) would say, THE REVOLUTION CONTINUES.
