The title of a recently released Yahoo! article is “Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers hobbling into stretch run of playoff chase”
“Leaning on a crutch, Kobe Bryant limped through the corridor of the Bradley Center, bone spurs in his foot, Utah and Dallas on his heels. Here hobbled a peerless personification of the Los Angeles Lakers’ season, SPUTTERING and SPITTING OUT DUST in the FINAL push for the playoffs”. This is the Lakers’ “final” or LAST GASP to simply MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
According to Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni, “Sometimes we look our age“. Translation: the Lakers are starting to look like the OLD team that they are.
Finally, Bryant finished off: “I’m NOT worried. WE’LL BE ALL RIGHT (?)” REALLY? Well the Lakers are 37-36 and only 5-5 in their last 10 games (Web-site/URL: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/standings), so this is an interesting INTERPRETATION (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
This is yet another EASY conclusion. With 16 NBA championships and SUPERSTARS like KOBE BRYANT and PAU GASOL, the Lakers SHOULD NOT be “hobbling” or STRUGGLING. However, DWIGHT HOWARD has been a MAJOR disappointment making this season A FAILURE. We can only wonder: what would have happened if they had kept LAMAR ODOM who of course is now with THE CLIPPERS?
