The title of a recently released Al-Jazeera article is “North Korea sentences US citizen to jail” (Web-site/URL: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia-pacific/2013/05/20135224636174632.html).
“North Korea has sentenced a US citizen to 15 years of HARD LABOR for “hostile acts” against the government, THE OFFICIAL Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has said”. Again of course as we know “official news (agencies)” only carry “official” or GOVERNMENT opinions. On top of this, we know that relations between the US and North Korea are ICE COLD because of the latter’s insistence on DEVELOPING NUCLEAR WEAPONS and “hard labor” would be an example of HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE except in CHINA which has THOUGHT REFORM camps.
“Pae Jun-ho, known in the United States as Kenneth Bae, was arrested in November (2012) as he entered the northeastern port city of Rason”. Rason is a “special economic zone” (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rason_Special_Economic_Zone) in NORTH Korea (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rason) and again this is problematic because North Korea is EXTREMELY sensitive to ANY foreigners entering their country.
On Thursday (May 2, 2013), KCNA said: “The Supreme Court sentenced him to 15 years of COMPULSORY labor for this crime“.
“KCNA said on Saturday (April 27, 2013) when announcing his trial that Pae had “admitted that he committed crimes aimed to topple the DPRK [DEMOCRATIC People’s Republic of Korea]”. Again, we are reminded of how much of a JOKE/FARCE the name ” DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE‘s Republic of Korea” is. If this name fits, there wouldn’t HEREDITARY SUCCESSION and we wouldn’t have THE WORST HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES MANKIND HAS EVER SEEN.
“The United States called for the “IMMEDIATE release” of Pae”. Again of course this WILL NOT happen given the hostilities between North Korea and the United States and given how North Korea treats prisoners from ALL countries/of all nationalities except CHINA, its only known ally.
Finally, deputy acting State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell finished off: “We urge the DPRK authorities to grant Mr Bae AMNESTY” which, again, of course, IS NOT going to happen because SYMPATHY EMPATHY and KINDNESS simply DO NOT EXIST in North Korea. “We have concerns about the LACK OF TRANSPARENCY in this case” again obviously because “transparency” is something else that HAS NEVER EXISTED in North Korea.
To conclude, let’s go back to the subtitle: “Pae Jun-ho, known in the US as Kenneth Bae, sentenced to 15 years hard labor for “hostile acts” against Pyongyang”. OK we know what is “hostile” to North Korea. The question is: is anything NOT “hostile” to North Korea? Again, the answer to this question is NO. This reinforces what North Korea has been telling us all along: they will NOT change ANY of their policies and they will REMAIN TYRANNICAL.
