MARK SANFORD Returns To Congress: Bloomberg

The title of a recently released Bloomberg article is “Sanford Bests Colbert Sister for South Carolina Comeback” (Web-site/URL: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-08/sanford-tops-colbert-s-sister-for-south-carolina-comeback-2-.html).

Republican Mark Sanford will return to the U.S. House after winning a special election last night in South Carolina, staging a comeback four years after scandal tarnished his image while he served as the state’s governor”. Of course, this “scandal” occurred between June 18 and June 24, 2009 “hiking” became an acronym for/synonymous with EXTRA-MARITAL AFFAIR (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Sanford), led to the “I’ve been unfaithful to my wife” circus (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLUTvOo5vR8) and earned Sanford a spot in the “Sex and the Political Wife” documentary hosted by BARBARA WALTERS (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTmbgMkYUWE), certainly a very DUBIOUS list to be on/a member of.

“Sanford’s defeat of Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, an older sister of comedian Stephen Colbert, capped a bid for personal and political redemption by a candidate who was once a rising star in his party”.

“as he celebrated his victory in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina”, Sanford told supporters, “I am one IMPERFECT  man, saved by God’s grace”. Does God forgive Sanford? AgainONLY TIME WILL TELL.

“He said his campaign was based on “reconstructing those (free) MARKET-based principles, those constitutional ideals and those themes of LIMITED GOVERNMENT”. AgainNOTHING NEW THEREThese are fundamental GOP principles.

“in a May 5 (2013) analysis of its poll that showed Sanford UP by 1 percentage point, compared with a 9-point DEFICIT two weeks earlier (April 21 2013)”, Public Policy Polling, “a DEMOCRATIC-leaning group based in Raleigh, North Carolina”, wrote: “Sanford has gotten back into the race by NATIONALIZING it and PAINTING Colbert Busch asLIBERAL. So the 2014 mid-term elections is shaping up to be like the 2010 mid-term HOUSE elections, the ANTI-INCUMBENT elections, in which DEMOCRATS lost 63 seats after wrestling control of Congress (both the House & Senate) away from the GOP in the 2006 mid-term elections and INCREASING those majorities in the 2008 elections riding OBAMA‘s coattails (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections,_2010

Representative Greg Walden of Oregon, the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement last night (May 7, 2013) , “These results (i.e. SANFORD‘s election) demonstrate just how DEVASTATING (?) the policies of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi are for House Democrats in 2014″. This is WALDEN‘s INTERPRETATION/what he WANTS TO BELIEVE (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).

Finally, “Democrats reacted to Sanford’s win by touting the newcomer’s performance in what Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel termed in a statement a “DEEP RED Republican district,” referring to the color used by television networks for Republican areas of the U.S”. “The fact that the Democrat made this competitive is a testament to THE STRENGTH OF Elizabeth Colbert Busch as a candidate and the Republican habit of nominating FLAWED candidates”. Well BOTH Democrats and Republicans are “flawed” making this the latest/another case of “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).

So, South Carolina voters HAVE FORGIVEN Sanford for his MAJOR transgression after all.
