The title of a recently released CBS News article is ”NO clear result after Turkish PM, (and) protesters meet” (Web-site/URL: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57589293/no-clear-result-after-turkish-pm-protesters-meet/).
“A meeting between Turkey’s prime minister and representatives of anti-government protesters ended early Friday (June 14, 2013) without a clear resolution on how to end the occupation of a central Istanbul park that has become a flashpoint for the largest political crisis of his 10-year rule”.
“As Erdogan held talks in the capital, Ankara, Istanbul’s governor hosted a meeting through the night with any protesters who cared to join him at a cafe near Taksim Square — vowing to consult with them “UNTIL THE MORNING IF NECESSARY” on finding a solution to the sit-in”. WILL THERE BE A “solution?”
According to Huseyin Avni Mutlu, “I hope this meeting will be a message to youngsters from different ages in Gezi Park … we are TRYING to end this issue WITHOUT (police) having to intervene“. Again, we have to wonder: IS THIS POSSIBLE?
On Thursday (June 11 2013), Erdogan gave his starkest warning yet that the protests, which have trained an unflattering spotlight on hisISLAMIC-rooted government, MUST end“. “WE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE END OF OUR PATIENCE“. There are TWO things to note here. First, many people DON’T like “Islamic” governments, including GIGI IBRAHIM (gsquare86), although she won’t admit it (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tPGLtE6I18). On top of this, like many POLITICIANS, Erdogan DOES NOT have a lot of “patience”.
According to Hasan Husein Karabulut. “Each of us is already an independent individual, may be also a father or a mother. My mom and dad DO NOT think that there is an objection for being here“, again UNLIKE GIGI IBRAHIM (gsquare86) whose family DID NOT want to join the demonstrations in EGYPT (Web-site/URL: http://wiki.aucegypt.edu/isqatalnizam/index.php/Gigi_Ibrahim).
“Erdogan also LASHED OUT Thursday (June 13, 2013) at the European Parliament over a non-binding resolution expressing concern over “the DISPROPORTIONATE and EXCESSIVE use of force” by Turkish police against the demonstrators”. THIS IS THE TRUTH. However, Erdogan “lashed out”, just like any DICTATOR would.
“The EU assembly said it “DEPLORES the reactions of the Turkish government and of Prime Minister Erdogan” — and accused him of driving both sides further apart“.
Finally, “shortly before the vote, DRAWING RAUCOUS APPLAUSE FROM HIS PARTY MEMBERS“, Erdogan finished off: “I WON’T recognize the decision that the European Union (EU) Parliament is going to take about us. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE by taking such a decision?” “Who (does)” ERDOGAN “think” HE IS? This is the latest/another indication that Erdogan is becoming increasingly like A DICTATOR.
To conclude, let’s return once again to the title: ”NO clear result after Turkish PM, (and) protesters meet”. Again, this is EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). We’re starting to see hints of and similarities to the ARAB revolutions in Turkey, although Turkey IS NOT an Arab country. In theory, Turkey is democratic (supposedly/in theory), but ISLAMIST. CAN THESE TWO CHARACTERISTICS CO-EXIST? Right now, the answer seems to be NO.
