TEA PARTY Complains About IRS TARGETING: Reuters

The title of a recently released Reuters article is “As Tea Party rallies, FBI says IRS probe a TOP priority” (Web-site/URL: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/19/us-usa-irs-mueller-idUSBRE95I15O20130619).

“More than A DOZEN FBI agents are assigned to a criminal probe into Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scrutiny of conservative political groups, FBI Director Robert Mueller said on Wednesday (June 19, 2013)”.

“(Mueller) told the Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing” “It’s a high-priority investigation and it needs to be handled WITH CAREbut it also needs to be PUSHED AGGRESSIVELY“. Again, “with care” and “pushed aggressively” DON’T go together.

“Mueller spoke as Tea Party conservatives rallied outside the U.S. Capitol in the sixth week of a controversy that prompted President Barack Obama to fire acting IRS Commissioner Steve Miller”.

“At least 1,000 protesters gathered at an “Audit the IRS” event organized by the Tea Party Patriots, an umbrella group of the anti-Washington movement whose members favor LOWER taxes and LESS government spending” AS EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI) .

“Republican Representative Dave Camp of Michigan told the crowd that the IRS investigation will take time, but it will get answers”. “We will hold those responsible ACCOUNTABLE“, as if THE GOP are “accountable”.

Finally, “Carol Bolling, “a Tea Party organizer from Georgia said (that) the IRS SHOULD BE ABOLISHED”. “I want something done NOW. There’s enough proof to know what they (IRS officials) did“. Well, the GOP seems to want to “abolish” EVERYTHING these days.

The conclusion to this article is simple, but has MUCH WIDER IMPLICATIONSThe issue here is that the IRS TARGETED Tea Party members. Tea Partiers will certainly be happy about that the FBI is investigatingOK, this issue in and of itself doesn’t amount to much because Capitol Hill POLITICIANS constantly target each otherHowever, we can easily see how TROUBLING it is when people target each otherespecially people who AREN’T important to each other or will ONLY see each other ONCE IN A LIFETIME or NOT on a regular basisIT IS ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS to go after people under such circumstancesWhen interviewing it is inappropriate to discriminate against people based on their RACE, ETHNICITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION and how they EAT/SLEEP/SMOKE, unless they take meal breaks that are too longsleep so much that they are consistently late for work or smoke more than they work assuming that most people DON’T smokeThis of course, IS NOT the case in CHINA, JAPAN and KOREA.
