Will There Be A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN Over HEALTHCARE REFORM? Reuters

The title of a recently released Reuters article is “Democrats (and) Republicans EXPECT to AVERT U.S. government shutdown” (Web-site/URL: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/22/us-usa-fiscal-congress-idUSBRE98L0FE20130922).

Is this A REASONABLE EXPECTATION (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI)? “Key Democrats and Republicans said on Sunday (September 22 2013) that they EXPECT a BITTERLY DIVIDED  Congress to SOMEHOW come together and avert a U.S. government shutdown in eight days (September 30 2013)”“Congress come together?” Again DOES ANYONE SEE THIS HAPPENING? Also September 30 2013 is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.

“But it remained unclear how they would do it and, more importantly, WHO WILL BLINK over Republican DEMANDS to defund President Barack Obama’s landmark overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system, commonly known as Obamacare”There are THREE things to note here. First “who will blink over Republican demands?” Secondly “demanding” again is a fundamental characteristic of “Difficult People” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). On top of this, REUTERS is using the term “Obamacare?”

According to Sen. Mike Lee, speaking on NBC‘s “Meet the Press”, “We all know that the government is going to be funded. The question iswhether it will be funded with Obamacare or without“. Lee is a member of THE EXTREMIST TEA PARTY so again THIS IS EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).

“Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, also appearing on the NBC program , said that she, too, expects the government to remain open beyond September 30 (2013), the end of the current fiscal year”.

I believein the endPEOPLE OF GOODWILL WILL COME TOGETHER and DO THE RIGHT THING and, stop this (Republican) POLITICAL BRINKSMANSHIP” that risks a shutdown”, “do the right thing” again is OPEN TO INTERPRETATIONS (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). Also do POLITICIANS have “goodwill” and are POLITICIANS willing to “come together?” Again, this is HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texasa POTENTIAL 2016 White House contender, reiterated his support for the effort to defund Obamacare being pushed by the Tea Party movement”. Notice “potential 2016 White House contender”. Again it’s all about ELECTIONS for the GOP.

“Cruz said he plans to try to RAISE PROCEDURAL ROADBLOCKS to prevent Democrats from eliminating the defunding provision in the House-passed bill”. The phrase “raise procedural roadblocks” again reinforces the fact that Republicans are OBSESSED WITH PLAYING NEGATIVE

“Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Cruz conceded that HE DOES NOT KNOW IF he will have the 41 votes needed in the 100-member Senate to sustain such a roadblock. But he said it’s now time for the Senate’s 46 Republicans “to UNIFY (and) to STAND TOGETHER WITH (?) House Republicans” and against Obamacare”Cruz is asking Republicans to “unify and stand together” to PLAY NEGATIVE/PLAY PARTISAN POLITICS. “Look, this (bill) may end up going back to the House. I hope and FULLY BELIEVE that the House will continue the fight“. These are more ANTICS and Fox News is the perfect stage for these antics because once again Fox News is THE GOP MOUTHPIECE.

“Republican Representative Tom Graves of Georgia said members of his party are “UNITED (?) around a very simple goal and that is keeping the government open while PROTECTING (?) our constituents from the HARMFUL (?) effects of Obamacare”. Again, “constituents” suggests that Graves is talking about his DISTRICT again which should remind us of BLANCHE LINCOLN talking about “Arkansans” again (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMFIQ7ERdPI), which reinforces the fact that POLITICIANS’ are focused on NARROW IDEOLOGIES.

“Graves told ABC‘s “This Week” program”: “We’re going to do everything we can to PROTECT OUR CONSTITUENTS (?) and we have eight days to do that“. Again, there are TWO things to note here. First, “protect our constituents”. HERE WE GO AGAIN. Secondly, notice “eight days”The GOP is THREATENING A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AGAIN.

“Democratic Representative Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, also appearing on ABC, said, “There’s a reason Republican senators like Senator McCain and others are saying THIS (i.e. threatening to shut down the government) IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. The Republican proposition here is (that) they’re going to SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT if they can’t deny healthcare to millions of Americans, including millions of KIDS“. Van Hollen is the Ranking Member on the House Budget Committee (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Van_Hollen). There are THREE things to note here. First, McCain is A MODERATE once again? Secondly, “kids” are vulnerableNOT WOMEN

Finally, “While a number of lawmakers on both sides of the political aisles said on Sunday talk shows that they DO NOT EXPECT a government shutdown, Democratic House (Minority) Leader Nancy Pelosi said she believes A LOT of CONSERVATIVE Republicans WANT ONE“. Speaking on CNN‘s “State of the Union”, Pelosi said: “The Republicans put legislation on the (House) floor that was INTENDED TO SHUT DOWN GOVERNMENT. THAT’S A VICTORY, BECAUSE THEY ARE ANTI-GOVERNMENT

To conclude, let’s return once again to the title: “Democrats (and) Republicans expect to avert U.S. government shutdown”. Againthis is HIGHLY UNLIKELY because, againPEOPLE AREN’T EVEN CLOSE TO BEING ON THE SAME PAGE
