GOP STILL Trying To UNDERMINE Healthcare Reform: Yahoo!

The title of a recently released Yahoo! article is “Republicans making ‘Obamacaretheir NEXT (?) target” (Web-site/URL:

“Obamacare” escaped unharmed from the government shutdown Republicans hoped would stop it, but just as quickly they have opened a new line of attack — one HANDED to them by THE ADMINISTRATION ITSELF.

“Republicans HOPE to ride that and other defects they see in the law into the 2014 congressional elections. Four Democratic senators are facing re-election for the first time since they voted for the Affordable Care Act, and their defeat is critical to GOP ASPIRATIONS for a Senate majority”. The minority party ALWAYS have NEGATIVE “hopes” and “aspirations”.

According to Michael Weaver, “a self-employed photographer from rural southern Illinois who’s been uninsured for about a year”, “This is THE LAW OF THE LAND at this point. We need to STOP THE ARGUING and MOVE FORWARD to MAKE IT WORK“. Bingo.

“The headline on a press release Friday (October 18 2013) from House Speaker John Boehner SCREAMED“: “”#TRAINWRECK: SKYROCKETING PRICES, BLANK SCREENS, & ERROR MESSAGES“. There are TWO things to note hereFirst, again, “skyrocketing prices” by itself is a CHINESE HOUSEWIVES’ concern. “prices” are important but they are only ONE of life’s considerationsThere are MANY OTHER considerationsOn top of thisBoehner is calling healthcare reform “a train wreck” AGAIN? HE was the first one who said that healthcare reform “is the law of the land” (Web-site/URL:

“A House hearing on the “BOTCHED Obamacare rollout” is scheduled for this coming week. GOP lawmakers want Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign”. It’s as if Republicans HAVEN’T “botched” anything themselves. Again NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

According to Sen. Lindsey Graham, “To our Democratic FRIENDS (?): You OWN ‘Obamacareand it’s going to be THE POLITICAL GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING“. Graham is talking about THE 2014 MID-TERM ELECTIONS here and he is supposedly A MODERATEThe GOP may have given Democrats a “political gift” of their ownWe have to wonder: WILL TED CRUZ’S ANTICS CAUSE THE GOP TO LOSE SEATS

In response, Rep. Sander Levin of Michigan, “ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, which oversees much of the healthcare law”, SCOFFED: “IRRESPONSIBLE OBSESSION“. BOTH parties have “irresponsible obsessions” making this the latest/yet another case/example of “We think they made us made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL:

“Democratic pollster Celinda Lake says she DOESN’T see how going after the health law rollout will help Republicans by the time of next year’s (2014) election”. “Americans are technology OPTIMISTSYou tell them the website HAS PROBLEMS today (October 20 2013) and they’ll assume IT WILL BE BETTER tomorrow (October 21 2013). I mean, we’re Americans. We can fix a web-site“. Well “Americans are technology optimists” but the GOP are CHRONIC PESSIMISTS.

“Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Mark Begich of Alaska and Kay Hagan of North Carolina will be facing voters for the first time since they were among the 60 Democrats who voted for the health law in 2009″. We can get a gauge of how tough each of these senators’ re-election prospects will be by looking at the number of Representatives of each party in each of these states. ALL of ARKANSAS’ four Representatives are REPUBLICANS, in LOUISIANA there are FIVE Republicans in SIX districts,  in ALASKA DON YOUNG is a REPUBLICAN and NORTH CAROLINA has EIGHT REPUBLICANS and 5 DEMOCRATS in its 13 districts. So the re-election battles for ALL of these senators will be TOUGH.

“More than a year before the election, Republican Rep. Tom Cotton is airing an ad that criticizes Pryor for his vote, telling Arkansans that Pryorcast the DECIDING vote to MAKE  you live under Obamacare” The commercial’s final image shows Pryor with Obama, who took A DRUBBING in Arkansas last year (2012)“. This is how ARLEN SPECTER lost in THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY in 2010, the year of the Democratic “shellacking”

According to Rob Engstrom, “senior vice president and national political director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce”,The bottom line is these candidates will have to answer for WHY they voted for this bill“.

THE ECONOMY (and) NOT health care, remains the top concern of voters” obviously. “By putting opposition to the health care law ahead of all other priorities, economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin says tea-party conservatives may have OVERDONE it“. Everything has its LIMITS.

Finally, more specifically, Holtz-Eakin, “an adviser to Republicans”, said: “Obamacare WAS an effective campaign weapon. The question is, have they damaged it BEYOND ITS POLITICAL VIABILITY?” In other wordsRepublicans, especially Tea Partiers, have talked healthcare repeal TO DEATH.

To concludelet’s return once again to the title: “Republicans making ‘Obamacare’ their next target”. Wellhealthcare reform has ALWAYS been a “target” of the GOP.
