The title of a recently released CNN article is “Suspect SHOT (and is) IN CUSTODY at LAX after TSA agent fired upon” (Web-site/URL: http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/01/us/lax-gunfire/index.html?hpt=hp_t1).
“A suspect has been shot and is in police custody after Friday’s (November 1, 2013) shooting at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), a law enforcement source close to the investigation tells CNN‘s Miguel Marquez”.
“A person with a firearm at the airport approached a checkpoint at Terminal 3 and opened fire Friday morning (November 1, 2013) at a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent, a former Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) ranking officer who was at the scene told CNN“.
“Reports of gunfire Friday morning prompted evacuations of portions of LAX and led to a “ground stop” for arriving planes, said police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)”.
“Passenger Robert Perez, who was getting ready to fly Virgin Air, was TAKING A NAP in the terminal when PANIC ERUPTED, he told CNN affiliate KCAL/KCBS“. “I heard a POPPING sound and everybody was DIVING FOR COVER” obviously “diving for cover” IN FRIGHT. “The TSA said (that) THERE WAS A SHOOTING in the terminal and evacuate the building“. “At least 100 people came down a staircase”. “Everybody started to PANIC” AS EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). THERE WAS AN ACTIVE SHOOTER. On top of this, we can suggest that people SHOULDN’T be “taking a nap in the terminal” because “panic (can erupt)” AT ANY TIME/WITHOUT WARNING. Again, we must be aware of our surroundings AT ALL TIMES, ESPECIALLY in crowded places such as AIRPORTS.
“Fox Sports national columnist Bill Reiter was also at the airport during the gunfire”. Reiter tweeted: “After the initial BURST of gunfire and hiding, people started JUMPING OVER ONE ANOTHER, JUMPING OFF CHAIRS, (and) PUSHING each other. CHAOS & FEAR“, which, again, are two things we DON’T need any more of.
Finally, “Alex Neumann was at a food court, waiting to travel to Miami, when the incident unfolded. He said Terminal 2 was PUT INTO LOCKDOWN“. “People were RUNNING and people were GETTING KNOCKED DOWN. There was LUGGAGE EVERYWHERE. MAYHEM is the best I can describe it“. This is an EXTREMELY ACCURATE and ALARMING description.
To conclude, LA “America’s second largest city” is ON EDGE.
