The title of a recently released Reuters article is “Biden calls for TRUST (?) with China amid AIRSPACE DISPUTE” (Web-site/URL: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/04/us-japan-china-usa-idUSBRE9B303220131204).
“U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, visiting as a dispute over a new Chinese air defense zone RATTLES NERVES around the region (Asia Pacific), said on Wednesday (December 4, 2013) that relations between Washington and Beijing had to be based on trust (?)”. There are TWO things to note right off the bat. First, again, as we’ve said on numerous occasions, China is INFAMOUS when it comes to “nerve rattling”. As far as “trust” is concerned, it DOESN’T seem to be there especially over the issue of the SENKAKU Islands.“Biden told Chinese President Xi Jinping he believed Xi was a CANDID and CONSTRUCTIVE (?) person“. Surely this was FLATTERY. More specifically, “during a meeting in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People”, Biden said: “In developing this new relationship, BOTH QUALITIES ARE SORELY NEEDED (“candid and constructive”). Do CHINESE politicians possess these qualities? “CANDOR generates TRUST. TRUST is the basis on which REAL CHANGE,CONSTRUCTIVE CHANGE, is made“. The problem is: the Chinese DON’T want to “change”.
“Xi said the international situation and regional landscape were “undergoing profound and COMPLEX changes“. Here’s the first EXCUSE. China is basically saying: because “change” is “complex”, we DON’T want to “change”. ”Regional issues keep cropping up and there are MORE PRONOUNCED global challenges such as CLIMATE CHANGE and ENERGY SECURITY“ and therefore the Diaoyu Islands are OURS (CHINA’S). “The world is NOT tranquil” and CHINA has A LOT to do with that.
“As Biden arrived, THE OFFICIAL English-language China Daily said in a strongly worded editorial that he “should not expect any substantial headway if he comes simply to repeat his government’s previous ERRONEOUS and ONE-SIDED remarks“. It’s as if CHINA HASN’T made “erroneous and one-sided remarks. Of course, as we know, NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. ”IF the U.S. is TRULY committed to lowering tensions in the region (Asia-Pacific), it MUST first stop acquiescing (giving in) to Tokyo’s DANGEROUS BRINKSMANSHIP. It MUST STOP EMBOLDENING BELLIGERENT Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to constantly PUSH THE ENVELOPE of Japan’s ENCROACHMENT and PROVOCATIONS“. Again, as we’ve said on numerous occasions, it’s as if CHINA DOESN’T “encroach” and “provoke” making this the latest/yet another example of “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“China has repeatedly said the zone was designed to REDUCE (?) THE RISK OF MISUNDERSTANDINGS, and stressed that since it was set up there had been no issues with freedom of flight for civilian airlines”. “REDUCE (?) the risk of misunderstandings”. China certainly ISN’T doing much, IF ANY of that.
“The Defense Ministry on Tuesday (December 3, 2013) SLAMMED what it said were “DISTORTIONS” and “MUD THROWING” over the zone and China’sintentions”. Again, there are TWO things to note here. First “slammed” is another way of saying BLAMING & CRITICIZING (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-AJviZ8Itk). On top of this, as far as “distorting” and “mud throwing” are concerned, BOTH China and the United States do this, making these just two more examples of “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). “In a statement”, Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng said: “It is NOT aimed at any specific country or target and it certainly DOES NOT constitute a threat towards any country or region“. This is the latest example of China being DEFENSIVE (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said 55 airlines from 19 countries were cooperating with China’s REQUEST (?) to report flight plans and identify themselves in the zone”. China’s “requests” sound like DEMANDS (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“Hong added that China was “WILLING to MAINTAIN DIALOGUE and COMMUNICATION on relevant technical issues with Japan on the basis of EQUALITY and MUTUAL RESPECT (?)” Is CHINA “willing to maintain dialogue?” On top of this, do “equality and mutual respect” exist in CHINA? As far as the SENKAKU Islands are concerned, Japan and CHINA are certainly NOT “equal”; CHINA is being PUSHY/DOMINATING.
“Wang Dong, an associate professor of international relations at Peking University, said China’s RESTRAINT (?) following flights by U.S., Japanese and South Korean military aircraft showed China was serious when it said the zone was DEFENSIVE“. China CERTAINLY IS “defensive” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). However, when China is “defensive” it certainly DOES NOT show “restraint”. “However, it WOULD HAVE BEEN very helpful IF China had presented a coherent story and a coherent case on the zone from the very beginning, instead of waiting“. So FINALLY we have a CHINESE person CRITICIZING China instead of saying that the Chinese Communist government is perfect all the time the way most Chinese people do.
”In Tokyo, Biden called on Japan and China to find ways to REDUCE (?) tensions, repeating that Washington was “DEEPLY concerned” by the announcement of the zone” by CHINA, but again “(reducing) tensions” is NOT happening. If anything, “tensions” are INCREASING.
“U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel echoed that sentiment on Wednesday (December 4, 2013), telling reporters at the Pentagon: “It’s important forChina, Japan, South Korea (and) all the nations in this area (Asia Pacific) to STAY CALM and RESPONSIBLE“. Again, as we’ve seen, this is clearly NOT happening. This is especially true with CHINA. ”These are COMBUSTIBLE issues“. Ain’t that the truth.
“Still, he criticized China for declaring the defense zone “so UNILATERALLY and so IMMEDIATELY” without any international consultation”. ”That’s NOT a wise course of action to take for any country“, but what can we do? CHINA INSISTS ON DOING THINGS THEIR OWN WAY AND STUBBORNLY REFUSES TO CHANGE.
Finally, “The China Daily said it was obvious Washington had taken TOKYO‘s side in the dispute”.
“Biden needs to be reminded that JAPAN holds the key to PEACEFULLY (?) solving the East China Sea, because it is the Abe administration’srecalcitrant (resisting authority or control) denial of the existence of a dispute that has prevented Beijing and Tokyo from conducting MEANINGFUL (?) communication and crisis control“. Again, things are only “meaningful” to POLITICIANS WHEN THEY GET WHAT THEY WANT/THEIR WAY.
“China wants Japan first to acknowledge that a formal dispute over sovereignty exists, experts say, a step that Tokyo has rejected for fear it would undermine its claim over the islands, known as the Senkaku in Japan and the Diaoyu in China”.
“Again, our TIMELY visitor needs to be told: It is JAPAN that has unilaterally changed the status quo … China is just RESPONDING TO Japanese PROVOCATIONS“. This is the latest/yet another example of “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
This is yet another EASY conclusion. There is limited or even NO “trust” between politicians WITHIN THE UNITED STATES, so what are the chances that there will be “trust” between the United States and an UNDEMOCRATIC country such as China? ZERO.
