The title of a recently released CBS News article is “Police: Center of Fallujah falls to Qaeda-linked fighters” (Web-site/URL:

“The city center of Iraq’s Fallujah has fallen COMPLETELY into the hands of fighters from the al Qaeda-linked Islamic State in Iraq and Levant, police said Saturday (January 4, 2014), yet another victory for the HARDLINE group that has made waves across the region in recent days”. Again we are reminded of how TROUBLING “hardline” is.

“The group is also one of the strongest rebel units in Syria, where it has imposed a STRICT VERSION OF Islamic law in territories it holds and KIDNAPPED and KILLED anyone it deems critical of its rule“. There are TWO things to note here. First, “a strict version of Islamic law” is known as SHARIA lawSecondly “kidnapped and killed anyone it deems critical of its rule” is a fundamental characteristic of dictatorships and reinforces the fact that dictators are INTOLERANT/DOGMATIC/INFLEXIBLE.   Also on Saturday, it claimed responsibility for a suicide car bombing in a Shiite-dominated neighborhood in Lebanon”The fact that Al-Qaeda has infiltrated LEBANON is DEEPLY troubling because Lebanon is supposedly DEMOCRATIC (Web-site/URL:

“Hadi Razeij, head of the Anbar province police force, said police had left the city center entirely and had positioned themselves on the edge of town”. Razeij told Al-Arabiya, “The walls of the city are in the hands of the police force, but the people of Fallujah are THE PRISONERS OF ISIL”. “the people of Fallujah are the prisoners of” A TERRORIST GROUP/ORGANIZATION, which IS NOT good.

“In a speech in Baghdad, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said government forces would press on to clear the province of militants”. “THERE WILL BE NO RETREAT until we eliminate this gang and rid the people of Anbar of their EVIL ACTSThe people oAnbar asked THE GOVERNMENT for help, they called us to come to rescue them from terrorists“. CAN THEY DO THISgiven that the Iraqi government, especially Al-Maliki, has been COMPLETELY INEPT/INEFFECTIVE.

“The U.S. State Department expressed its concern in a statement, saying it would continue to work with Iraqi authorities and tribes allied against the group “to defeat OUR COMMON (?) enemy“. There are TWO things to note here. First, “the US State Department expressed its concern”but given how MASSIVELY UNPOPULAR the US is in the Middle East, it’s HIGHLY UNLIKELY that the US will be able to do anything PRODUCTIVE hereOn top of this, does Iraq and the US have a “common enemy?”

Finally, Deputy State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf finished off: “We are also IN CONTACT WITH tribal leaders from Anbar province who are SHOWING GREAT COURAGE as they fight to EJECT THESE TERRORIST GROUPS from their cities“. Again, as we’ve said on numerous occasionsmerely/just being “in contact with” authorities ISN’T/WON’T be enough to solve any of Iraq’s problems.

To conclude, again, we can blame GEORGE W BUSH for the al-Qaeda takeover of Fallujah because groups such as al-Qaeda in Iraq DID NOT EXIST prior to the 2003 invasionAgain, we can mention GIGI IBRAHIM here because perhaps Iraq did “(go) down the drain”BECAUSE OF what the United States did (Web-site/URL:
