The title of a recently released Al-Jazeera article is “Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon dead at age 85″ (Web-site/URL: http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/1/11/ariel-sharon-.html).
“HARD-CHARGING Sharon was one of the region’s most iconic figures, who was adored by Israelis and REVILED (i.e. HATED) by Palestinians” and many supporters of the Palestinians like GIGI IBRAHIM (gsquare86).
“Ariel Sharon, the former Israeli general and prime minister who was in a coma for EIGHT years after he had a stroke at the height of his power, died on Saturday (January 11, 2014) aged 85, his family and the government said”. IT’S INCREDIBLE that someone can remain alive for that long on a ventilator. This brings up more critical issues, more specifically END OF LIFE. The most obvious question is: HOW LONG CAN THE FAMILY OF A BRAIN-DEAD PATIENT HOLD OUT BEFORE THE HOSPITAL HAS A RIGHT TO END THE BRAIN-DEAD PATIENT’S LIFE SUPPORT? We’re seeing this in the case of JAHI MCMATH who had a heart attack after a tonsillectomy.
“Sharon’s son Gilad announced the death at Sheba Medical Center, the hospital where his father had been treated. Doctors there had predicted his imminent death after his health declined sharply last week. “He has gone. He went when HE decided to go“. So unlike the case of JAHI MCMATH, doctors DIDN’T pull ARIEL SHARON’S life support.
“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed “deep sorrow” at the death of Sharon, calling him “a GREAT (?) warrior and military leader“, according to the Jerusalem Post“. Was Sharon “great?” This is open to INTERPRETATIONS (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“There was no immediate comment on the death from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, with whom Sharon’s Likud party successor, Netanyahu, has been holding U.S.-sponsored peace talks”, suggesting that Abbas’ party, FATAH, DIDN’T/ISN’T exactly get/getting along with Israel either.
“But a senior Palestinian official from Abbas’ Fatah party BLAMED Sharon for the death of former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat”. There are TWO things to note here. First what caused Arafat’s death is still a topic of contentious debate (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cause_of_Yasser_Arafat’s_death). On top of this, we have our latest example of BLAMING & CRITICIZING (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-AJviZ8Itk).
More specifically, Jibril Rajub said: “Sharon was A CRIMINAL, (who was) RESPONSIBLE FOR the assassination of Arafat and we would have HOPED to see him appear before the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a war criminal“. This is the latest example of What we “(hope)” for is often NOT what we GET.
“In Gaza, the Hamas government – whose political fortunes rose with the Israeli withdrawal –SAVORED Sharon’s demise”, AS EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
Finally, according to Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zurhi, “We have become more confident in victory with the departure of THIS TYRANT“. Well, the leader of Hamas is also a “tyrant” making this the latest case of “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). “Our people today (January 11, 2014) feel EXTREME HAPPINESS at the death and departure of this criminal whose hands were smeared with the blood of our people and the blood of our leaders here and in exile” again AS EXPECTED (Web-site/URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). On top of this, as we know, the United States regards Hamas as A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
To conclude, let’s return to the comment: “HARD-CHARGING Sharon was one of the region’s most iconic figures, who was adored by Israelis and REVILED (i.e. HATED) by Palestinians”. As we know, “hard-charging” people often get into A LOT OF TROUBLE because “hard-charging” people generally use the MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY approach. In other words, “hard charging” people can generally be described as INTOLERANT/DOGMATIC/ARROGANT (Web-site/.URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
